The error 1013 in iTunes which is mostly encountered when updating iOS firmware on iPhone 4, iPad 2 and seldom while updating firmware on iPad, iPod Touch and older iPhone models. If you’re a regular reader here at Blackra1n.biz, you’ll know that in this particular segment we post fixes for the common errors most people encounter and don’t know how to fix. The procedure to fix iTunes error 1013 has been documented in detail after the break.
Although I can’t and don’t guarantee this will work 100% of the time, if you’ve tried to jailbreak your iPhone gets stuck at the Apple Logo and reboots every 5-10 minutes, you need to follow these steps:
Setting the iPhone to recovery mode allows you to perform firmware restore using iTunes.
Few days ago I wrote a guide how to troubleshoot error 1015 when you downgrade the firmware for both iPhone and iPod Touch.
The guide was only for Windows. After many requests I wrote the guide for Mac OSX.
- iRecovery for MAC OSX Download
- Extract the archive and run the terminal iRecovery
- Then type the following string given sent to each
online:
cd desktop
./iRecovery -s
setenv auto-boot true
saveenv
/exit
Final Step:
Reboot now your device by holding down the power button and the Home button. You will now run the downgrade from firmware 3.1.3 to firmware 3.1.2 and you can follow the usual guides to jailbreak firmware 3.1.2.
